My work in Pavia regards the inactivation or demonstration of the essentiality of a particular gene in Mycobacteria that seem to be the therapeutic target of a new promising type of drugs developed by the University of Rome (La Sapienza).
My work in U.C. Berkeley regards the comprehension of the mechanisms that regulate the activation – inactivation of the mce1 operon in Mycobacteria and the trial of molecules that could inhibit this mechanisms.
