September 2010: Master degree with full marks and honors (110/110 cum laude) in Experimental and Applied Biology at the University of Pavia, Italy discussing the experimental thesis: “Effects of XPD mutations on the expression of specific genes”. Supervisors: Dr.Donata Orioli and Dr. Miria Stefanini.
December 2008: Bachelor degree in Biology (110/110) at the University of Salento, Lecce-Italy discussing the experimental thesis: “Alterations of mitochondrion energetic metabolism in rats suffering from diet-induced Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)”. From April 2011: fellowship supported by the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC) as part of the project “Functional basis of cancer proneness in UV-damage repair disorders” supervised by Dr. Miria Stefanini.
October 2010-present: PhD Student in Biomolecular and Genetic Sciences (cycle XXVI) at the University of Pavia, Italy. Scientific training at the Institute of Molecular Genetics (IGM) of National Research Council (CNR), laboratory of Human Genetics and Genomics working on the identification of extracellular matrix defects in patients affected by trichothiodistrophy. Supervisor: Dr. Donata Orioli.
January 2009-September 2010: Research training as undergraduate student at the IGM-CNR of Pavia, laboratory of Human Genetics and Genomics working on the characterisation of genes whose transcription is specifically deregulated in patients affected by trichothiodistrophy and xeroderma pigmentosum. Supervisors: Dr.Donata Orioli and Dr. Miria Stefanini.
