Current Position: PhD student in Genetic and Biomolecular Sciences, Doctoral School in Life Sciences “Camillo Golgi” at University of Pavia, Cytogenetics Laboratory. Scientific supervisor: Prof. Elena Raimondi.
2007 - 2009: Postgraduate degree in Experimental and Applied Biology at the University of Pavia; final evaluation: 108/110, title of thesis: Evolutionary study of the segmental duplication “LCR9” in hominoids, thesis supervisor: Prof. Elena Raimondi.
2004 - 2007: Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology at University of Pavia; final evaluation: 104/110, title of thesis: Localization of the APC protein coding gene (Adenomatous Polyposis Coli) in the horse genome, thesis supervisor: Prof. Elena Raimondi.

Technical Skills and Competences
Technical Skills: In situ hybridization, molecular biology techniques: PCR, Southern blot, purification of nucleic acids; eukaryotic cell cultures; bioinformatics competences: use of the main genomic databases, tools for nucleotide and aminoacid sequence alignment (BLAST, BLAT), software for analysis of repeated sequences in mammalian genomes (RepeatMasker, RepBase, DupMasker).
Computer skills: knowledge of Windows and Macintosh operating systems and programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Photoshop. European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) obtained on April 2004.
