Expertise in:
ü Samples characterization by generic and specific diagnosis for blood, sperm, saliva human fluids.
ü DNA purification from the following samples: whole blood, buffy coat, dried blood spots, body fluids, buccal swabs, saliva, sperm, compact bone, skeletal remains, teeth, tissue, paraffin-embedded tissue, fixed tissues, nails, hair follicles and hair shafts.
ü DNA quantification by RealTime PCR.
ü DNA amplification by PCR and multiplex-PCR.
ü DNA polymorphisms characterization VNTRs (variable number of tandem repeats), STRs (short tandem repeats) and SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) by PCR, Single Base Extension, and electrophoresis methods.
ü mtDNA sequencing analysis and mitochondrial haplogroups analysis
ü Electrophoresis methods: agarose gel, PAGE, capillary electrophoresis on ABI PRISM 310 Genetic Analyzer.
ü RFLPs characterization by Southern blotting analysis
