Prof. Marco Biggiogera.
December 2009 to October 2011: Scholarship
Collaborator in the diagnosis of oncohaematological diseases through flow cytometers FACSCalibur and FACS Canto II (3 lasers/8 colours). Design of specific antibodies panels for disease and patient: immunophenotypic characterization of disease onset and minimal residual disease by multiparametric flow cytometric analysis with 6/8 fluorescences on peripheral blood, bone marrow, cerebrospinal, pleural and ascitic fluids.
Name and address of employer: Department of Pathology and Laboratory Diagnostics, Anatomical Pathology III. Fondazione IRCCS National Cancer Institute, 1 via Venezian 20133 Milano.
Dr. Antonella Aiello
From July 2008 to October 2009: Thesis degree
Collaborator in sperimental project about cross-talk between autophagy and apoptosis in neuronal death. Use of cell culture technique about PC12 and NIH cells. Main techique: flow cytometer 3 colors (FACScan, Becton-Dickinson), MTT/LDH assay, Western Blot and Immunofluorescence.
Name and address of employer: Laboratory of Neuroscience “R. Levi-Montalcini”, Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences, University of Milano-Bicocca, 20126 Milano. Dr. Anna Maria Colangelo
From March 2007 to December 2007: Scholarship
Collaborator in experimental project concerning the prevalence of the gene aac (6 ')-lb and its allelic variant (aac (6 ')-lb-cr) in uropathogen bacteria (Escherichia coli) isolated in hospitals.
Use of molecular techniques such as PCR, Multiplex-PCR and Pulsed field gel electrophoresis. Application of Minimum inhibitory concentration method.

From May to November 2006: Occasional contract
Collaborator in experimental project about genotype characterization and epidemiological study of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and invasive bacteria (Streptococcus pneumoniae and Streptococcus pyogenes) isolated in hospitals. Application of protocol for bacterial DNA extraction, separation and identification of bacterial colonies by selective media, preparation of broths for bacterial culture and Gram stain.
